Rock and Roll Casanovas
I’ve lived in San Francisco a couple of times so far.
I’ve found it has innovation simmering right below every surface and history hiding around every corner.
I’ve discovered a local music scene that dances to the dive-bar beat of its own drum and flaunts unparalleled talent in the face of bigger music scenes in bigger cities.
And I’ve hidden some lovely memories in the corners of cozy San Francisco coffee shops.
It’s been lifetimes since I last walked its hilly streets.
Back then I was swallowed up by the glitz and glam and rock and roll Casanovas that it had to offer.
I was overwhelmed and hightailed it back across the country.
Today, I no longer search for love or get distracted by the shiny things of the world.
I am so different than I used to be.
But I do still look forward to visiting San Francisco again, someday.
I wonder what I will find there, now that my heart is whole.
“And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.” Ezekiel 36:26
