Rocky Mountain Living Room
Boulder, Colorado, is my Pipe Dream City: realized.
John Muir said, “The mountains are calling and I must go.”
They called. I went.
And I’ve been living here ever since.
I’ve learned some things along the way.
I’ve learned that Boulder is not photogenic.
No pics I’ve found come close to reflecting the beauty and grandeur that the Rocky Mountains are putting out there.
I’ve learned that if I drive fifteen little miles, I can climb 3,000+ feet in elevation.
There’s just something about being in the mountains that soothes.
I’ve also learned that productivity is a choice, independent of one’s location.
But there’s a steep price to be paid for choosing it.
And I’ve learned that no matter how perfect a city,
it’s still just a city.
“Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life—is not from the Father but is from the world. And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever.” 1 John 2:15-17
