Pruning and Patience

Produce has taken on a whole new meaning.
No, I’m not talking about the produce you buy in a farmer’s market.
I’m talking about productivity.
I used to think that the hours staring out the window just thinking…
And the chapters that weren’t good enough to be saved…
And the long, long walks every day…
…were all just wasted time.
But not anymore.
Now I understand that it was those events that made this season of productivity possible.
Pruning, in the moment, appears to be destroying the plant.
But in reality it’s preparing it for future fruit-bearing.
Don’t fight the pruning.
“And every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit.” John 15:2
