Longest Birthday Ever
I flew out to Northern California for my Birthday this year,
and by flying east to west I unwittingly lengthened the day commemorating my birth by two hours.
A twenty-six hour day, from start to finish. And after years of heartache, heartbreak, and a very lonely heart, my extended birthday marked another shift in the interim.
If the interim is the swiftly fleeting time between birth and death - a shift in the interim signifies a pivotal paradigmatic departure.
The first and most important shift for me was when I first set my sights on God, the Creator, the Origin of all.
And this second shift signified a sailing on wings extended in faith.
Sometimes the Lord carries us as we wander alone, sometimes He gives us beautiful true love. “the one.”
After as many birthdays as I’ve seen, I’d thought I’d outgrown such a mushy romantic sentiment.
But if I exist, He does. And if I exist, he must. And so they both do. Thankful and grateful beyond measure!
“Behold, you are beautiful, my beloved, truly delightful.” Song of Solomon 1:16
